How to use torrents to download movies, music and more

Downloading a torrent file is as simple as 1, 2, 3. All it takes is to follow these very simple instructions and you will be set to go. As long as you are only downloading these files for your own personal interest and not trying to sell or make profit, you are not doing anything illegal. So let's get started.

You will need to add a couple of programs to your computer. For starters, you will need to go to www.utorrent.com and download the newest and latest version of utorrent. This is simple, click the highlighted hyperlink (www.utorrent.com) and it will bring you to the utorrent home screen.

From the utorrent website you will click on the green "utorrent Free" button and it will start the download process. Once you have downloaded this program follow the simple install directions and click run utorrent. (This program will run in the background of your pc while you are doing other things.)

The next program that I think is a good program to get, will be your first torrent file. You will want to use a torrent site that gives you a vast array of many options when it comes to torrents. This is important because you want to pick torrents with great seeders and leachers.

A Seeder is someone else who has already downloaded the file you are trying to get where as a leacher is someone who is also trying to download the file at the same time.

The website I use is www.kickasstorrents.com This is a great site and I have never had any trouble with any torrent files I have aquired. So let's download your first torrent. Click the hyperlink or type in www.kickasstorrent.com into your web browser. After doing so you will get the following website.

From here you need to click on the search field and type in WinRar. Click Search

After hitting the search tab your results will load up. You will need to scroll down past the advertisments and you will see files WinRar with a description next to them.. You will choose which torrent file you would like, in this case, I would download WinRAR Pro v3.91 (Cracked) as it is a pro version and has already been cracked or jailbroken. **Crack means that you shouldn't need to put in a serial number or code to get the program to work.

You will notice to the right of the discription you see in most cases, 5 boxes. The first box is comments previous people have had on the file. Sometimes these will tell you weather a file is a good file or not. Next to that you see a blue arrow down, this is download the verified version of this torrent. The 3rd box looks like a horseshoe or rainbow. It is used for the people who like to save the magnetic link to their computer before downloading. The 4th box is a old down arrow, this is what you click if you want to avoid all the hassles of saving and get straight to the downloading. The last box is a crown. This represents that this torrent file has been verrified and is a good file to download without any viruses that can harm your computer.

To the right of those 5 boxes you will get the information of the torrents. Size of the file, How many files are in the torrent you are downloading, How old this torrent has been available, how many seeders (people who have this torrent already) and how many leechers (people who are also trying to download the torrent.) Simply click the gold arrow down on the file you wish to get. (A pop up will come up asking if you would like utorrent to be your main program to use when downloading torrents.) You can click OK to both of these pop-ups. In some cases, it will give you an option to click to where it won't notify you of that question the next time you want to download a file. I would advise checking those boxes, just makes it easier when getting your torrents.

You will notice that after you clicked ok to both pop-up boxes that utorrent has opened up. At the top of your utorrent you will see the file you are trying to download. After about 30-45 seconds it will tell you the approximate time of how long it will take to download this file. This program shouldn't take but a minute or two.

Once the download has completed it will change it's status from downloading to seeding. What I ussually do from here is click once on the file and click the red box at the top of the screen. This will change your files settingss from seeding to finished. You can now double click on the file and it will automatically open up in it's file location. **From here you will double click the winrar icon to install winrar to your computer. **Sometime files "torrents" are saved as a rar file. This condenses the file to make it easier to upload. In this case, you now have a program that will be able to open that program..

Now that you have general knowledge of how to download a torrent, you can download movies, songs, albums, computer programs, games etc. Some files are a little trickier than others, but in most cases, the torrent itself will have how to install directions with the file.
