Distruction of Earth? True or False
Today I fill you with questions that I myself would love answers for. The Bible, God, and everything it stands for. I'm not going to say I don't believe, because I do, but just as like anyone, I have questions. For instance.. Recently, I have joined an RCIA class to join the catholic perrish. I have been apart of many different denominations of churches in the past and find myself some-what knowledgable of the Bible. In this morning sermon the Father asked some boyscouts what the second of the ten commandments was. He then answered his question by saying, the second commandment of the ten commandments was that the 7th day is the day of rest. Now, I question this as a simple mistake by the Father, but later brought it up to a deacon of the church. I asked, Father said that the 2nd of the ten commandments was that the 7th day is a day of rest, but in actuality, this is the 4th commandment. The 2nd commandment is that thou shalt not make graven images of a God and proclaim that it is their God. (Ex. Don't put a sppon and a fork togeaqther and praise it like it's your shrine to the Holy Ghost.) Well, when spoken to the deacon, his answer was, well the Pennicostile Bible and the Catholic Bible have the ten commandments switched up a little. This made me feel as if he was trying to tell me that the Baptist are wrong in the order to which they placed the Ten Commandments. The thing is, is it was a Chatholic Bible that I turned to Exodus 20 and read about their ten commandments. And in this, it stated, that number 4 was the 7th day of rest and number 2 was graven images, as I had thought. So, simply put, it was a mistake.
Well, here's my next question. Dwelling deeper into the Bible God makes it rain for 40 day sand 40 nights. Flooding the earth completely. After the rain stops and the water subsides, life moves on for Noah and his family. It then states that the Lord commanded that he would never bring distruction to the earth again. With this in mind, I want to think about some things. Let's take the famous painting of the Mona Lisa. If I were to go to this painting, and I were to throw a bucket of paint all over it, would you consider this destroying the painting? If I were to put a raw hotdog into a microwave and heat it up for 20 minutes instead of 20 seconds, would this destroy the hotdog? Case in point being, It states in the Bible that the Lord God will not destroy the earth after the flood, but is it not true that every month, there is a hurricane, a tornado, a tsunami or some other type of natural disaster? Now, in my opinion and what researchers have stated, natural disasters such as these are exactly what they say, natural disasters, but are the natural disasters not a touch of God's hand? Natural Disasters are not man made? I can't go outside and say I want a tornado to take away my ex-wife and it happen right? So in essence, wouldn't this be God destroying the earth? Sure it's not all at once, it's piece by piece, but it is still distruction.
Another thought, I believe it's in Mark1:41 (The Cleansing of the Lepar) The Lepar approaches Jesus and asked to be cleansed, and in this Jesus say Yes, I will it be done.) We all know that God's Will is what makes our lives what they are. God knows our every being of existance and know where we are headed in the future and what will become of us. For it's in his will that he knows this. Will I win the lottery this Wednesday? Only if it's in the Lord's Will to be done, which prety much means no. Basically, God knows the paths of every soul that walks this earth. But here's the thing, God knows the path of "EVERY" soul that walks the earth. It doesn't matter if your white, black, asian, hispanic or whatever, God knows your destiny for if he Wills it, it will be done. This brings me to a horrifying thought. God knows the path of everyone, as I said before. The believer's, the non-believers, everyone. If a non believer decides to be a believer 10 years after being a non believer, did God not watch over that soul the entire time that person did what they did? Yes he did, because it was in God's Will for that person to be a non believer for those 10 years. But with this in mind, When people kill, rape, murder, fight, steal and well basically any other form of negative violence brought unto us, was it God's Will that brought that person to do what they did? After all, it's God's will that leads our lives in our everyday voyage.
I don't know what the answers are, as stated before, I'm just curious, I believe in God, but want to know what the answer is to all these bad things in life that happen, when it states in his Bible that he sent his son Jesus to die on the cross for our sins therefore, when Jesus died, it rectified all the sins of our past, present and future. So why are we still being punished for other sins. We ask for forgiveness, forgiveness should be granted..
